If you insist on using the author's list, and you have or can generate WordPerfect files with final page numbers, run the files through WordPerfect's built-in "indexer" using the author's list as a concordance file. (I used "files" because one 700-page file is much too big to work with.) That process will add page numbers to the list. The result is not a final index but merely a list of terms and page locators. An indexer could pull that file into Macrex (or Cindex I assume) and add entries as necessary. If you can't generate WordPerfect files with final page numbers, I think adding the page numbers to the author's list would be easier in WordPerfect, but I've been using WP a lot longer than I have Macrex. As far as price is concerned, I agree with the other replies that starting with someone else's list makes my task more difficult and would charge accordingly. URL - http://iquest.com/~virtual/. I haven't seen the index so I don't know whether I agree with his self-assessment or not, but it certainly is gratifying to read: "Index There is little point to buying a technical book (even one as fun and precociously pert as "Bebop") if it doesn't have a good index. But, once again, "Bebop to the Boolean Boogie" carries the day with an outrageously humongous (but exceptionally well laid out) offering that will set the standard by which other indexes are judged!
